1 dead as passenger bus hits tree in Bagerhat

The accident occurred at around 2:30 am on Monday (June 9) in the Mulghar area of ​​Fakirhat upazila on the Khulna-Dhaka highway.

Sheikh Nuruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mollahat Highway Police Station, said that the driver of the Imad Paribahan bus, which was going from Dhaka to Khulna, lost control when it reached the Mulghar area. The bus hit a tree on the side of the road. One passenger died on the spot and eight people, including the driver, were injured. Six of the injured have been admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
He further said that the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed yet. The body has been kept at the Upazila Health Complex and efforts are underway to identify the person. The bus involved in the accident has been taken to the police station.
